The Brief
The Approach
With only 4 days between enquiry and event day, MRG Evennts compressed what is normally a multi-week planning process into a focused 96-hour operation.
Day 1 — Lock the foundation. Venue confirmation with Taj The Trees, theme finalisation (a ship-anchored concept tied to Maersk’s brand identity), event licenses and permissions initiated, anchor and entertainment lineup booked.
Day 2 — Design and production. Stage design, entrance gate concept, photobooth treatment, and stall decor brought to life by the production team. Kids’ zone programming finalised — jumpers, trains, chocolate fountain, popcorn and candy counter, dedicated infant zone.
Day 3 — Vendor coordination and pre-build. All vendor handovers completed. Entertainment briefed and rehearsed: emcee, magic show, bubble show, DJ. Catering coordination locked with the hotel. Final headcount confirmed for kids’ zone and adult programming.
Day 4 — Setup and execution. Venue build from early morning. Stage, gate, photobooth, and stall decor installed. Kids’ zone set up with all activity stations. Final walkthrough. Doors opened on schedule. The event ran from morning to evening without a visible misstep.
The Execution
The Maersk family day was delivered as a full-day event at Taj The Trees, running from morning to evening for 450 employees and family members. The ship theme — anchored to Maersk’s identity as one of the world’s largest shipping companies — ran through stage design, the entrance gate, photobooth, and stall decor.
The kids’ zone was the operational centrepiece. With 450 attendees including a meaningful number of children across age groups, dedicated programming was non-negotiable. The zone featured inflatable jumpers, train rides, a chocolate fountain station, popcorn and candy counter, and a separate infant zone for the youngest attendees. Each activity station was staffed and monitored throughout the day.
Entertainment moved across the day in distinct movements — an emcee anchoring transitions, a magic show that drew kids and adults equally, a bubble show that became a photographic moment, and a DJ-led closing segment that lifted energy through the evening. Food and beverage was managed by the Taj kitchen, with MRG coordinating service flow and timing.
All event licenses and permissions were arranged by MRG, removing administrative load from the client during an already compressed timeline.
Why It Worked
